I have really long dark brown hair its about 6cm beneath halfway down my back, I am getting it cut so i want either a straight or side fringe (bang in america) and should i keep it that long or should i cut it shorter? thanks :D

i think u should cut it a little bit shorter with some layers. i have side "fringe" and i love it! if u want 2, cut it really short and sell it 2 locks of love. they'll make it into a wig and give it 2 a cancer patient going through chemo.

I had hair down to my waist. I got it cut to just below my shoulders and I got it layered with a side fringe. I felt so much better with it cut, as it had gone all dry at the ends, and it looked so much healthier. Because I got it cut to just under my shoulders, I still felt as though I had long hair, coz it was a bit weird getting it all cut off, as I had had it for so long, and at that length it wasn't too daunting. A side fringe is a good way to decide if you want a fringe or not, as you can see what you look like with one, but sweep it behind your ears if you don't like it. Good luck, getting my hair cut off was scary the first time, but I'm really glad I done it. I'm sure you'll look great whatever you decide x :)

Oh, it's really too bad you want to cut such long hair. I would cut maybe 2 inches to 4 inches and put a natural henna on it to make it shine. I'd probably get a flat iron to make it really straight and shiny but until I was older, like 30, I'd keep the hair. If you must cut your hair now. Give it to the organization that makes wigs for cancer patients.
