I've decided to grow my hair out and I'm willing to do what it takes to manage it...IE blowdry and yes even use a Sedu flat Iron...I will also use a lot of products along the way to protect it, but I just do not know what thermal protectant to use before I blow dry my hair...I will be more than likely be using BioSilk Therapy before using a flat Iron...and use PHYTO's brand along the way as far as the need for heavy moisture is concerned.

But my 2nd question is, what do women think of (straight) guys with long hair....

and what is your reaction when you see a guy and notice the fact that he has used a flat iron and etc...do you think it takes away from his masculinity?

I personally detest the look of a man with long hair. That being said, being well groomed is always a plus. You can't generally tell a person's product choices by the style they wear unless he or she talks at length about them. I would suggest (if you decide you must have long hair) to wear it casually, no matter what your grooming routine, meaning once you get out into public your attitude should convey that's the way you rolled out of bed. I think it's a confidence thing...if you don't call attention to your appearance (verbally, or with tics like constantly fussing/fixing) it suggests that you are confident with how you look. And, as is generally acknowledged, confidence is attractive in a man.

Personally i think that long hair on guys looks okay to just above shoulder length ( Bobbed Type Hairstyle) and think that you should just wash your hair with a good shampoo and conditioner, lightly towel dry it and brush it or comb into desired shape and let it air dry to accentaute any natural waves or curls in it

you should also put a deep conditioner on it every month and get your hair trimmed every two months to remove any split ends

I take it that as you mention straigthener's that your hair is either curly or very way

I personally would not use straigteners as heat can damage your hair, I normally use the Largest rollers possible to give Curly hair more volume and less curl. But as you are a guy you probably would not entertain this

When we would see each other, she would get mad because my hair was longer than hers, when the last time she saw me it was shorter. I have naturally frizzy long black hair, beyond the shoulder line, with a round chubby face and a big forehead, so I rebonded and dye it with two highlights - reddish brown and a yellowish brown (hard to imagine the colours i know, just take it as reddish brown overall).

Why don't you try bangs? You don't have to get blunt, straight bangs. You could get longer bangs that you put to the side. That usually makes a big difference in how you look.

Aww, I know exactly how you feel, my hair used to be long and then, instead of the trim I requested, someone chopped the lot off. I know it sounds silly but it made me really really miserable for a while. I'm sorry to say I don't think there's a way to make it all reappear but things like calcium can, apparently, help it to grow slightly faster and stronger, you can also get 'hair, skin and nails' tablets that might help. In the mean time there are some advantages to shorter hair, at least it's probably far lower maintenance at the moment.

I have the same problem with my hair. I look better with my hair down because my face is round, but I hate how my head gets really hot, and my hair gets messy and all over the place. If I tie it up, I get a crease in my hair from the band and it ends up looking weird if I put it back down.

The only thing I can suggest is to get a better cut and style for your hair so you can leave it down. Maybe get it layered for more texture, get bangs if you don't have them (I went for a side part for sideswept bangs). Ask your stylist for more advice on how to get a look that doesn't take a lot of upkeep. Good luck! :)

Well, what you could do is get a couple inches off, maybe have your hair come down a little past your shoulders, and add some layers to add volume. Plus you could do a very long, sideswept bang that wont get in your face. If your side bang ends at about you chin, you can tuck it behind your ear to keep it out of your way. And dont worry about the layers, if they are cut long enough, you can still put them in a ponytail. This cut will be simple and classic, but still give your hair some volume and a defined look. hope this helps ^-^

I recently got a flier from the local art museum. They're having an exhibit on Christian and Muslim art. There was one Christian piece dated 480 AD and anything else Christian was from the 1500's on up.

So, they (the medieval artists) pictured him as white (like them) and thought he was poor so he wouldn't have short hair since he couldn't afford a haircut. They probably made it neat in appearance b/c who's going to paint a picture of JC with unkempt hair? And everyone after that just followed along.

It is doubtful that the prophets had actually said 'Nazarene', rather than 'Nazirite', because reference bibles state that the prophecy cited in Matt. 2:23 is in reference to Judges 13:5-7 concerning Samson's description as "a Nazirite to God from the womb to the day of his death". In addition, there is no word translated 閳ユゴazarene閳?or any reference to a city of 'Nazareth' in the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament). Furthermore, although Luke 1:13-15 describes John the Baptist as a Nazirite from birth, John implied that Jesus was holier than he in Matthew 3:13-15, which says, "Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him". Thus Jesus was baptized, immersion in water being a fulfillment of the nazirite vow.

Basically, the Nazarite ascetics didn't cut their hair. Matthew seems to be saying that Jesus was somehow related with the Nazarites because he lived in Nazareth. So, its assumed Jesus didn't cut his hair. Its a weird screwy thing that looks like a flaw in the book of Matthew.

The problem comes down to the fact that Matt. 2:23 is either referencing Judges 13:5-7 or its referring some portion of Jewish scripture that got lost and no one knows about anymore. If it is referencing Judges 13:5-7, then it appears that the author of Matthew had an incorrect understanding of Judges 13.

At some point, it appears that it became common in Christianity to just gloss over the confusion in the reference in Matthew and just assume that some of the stuff in Judges applied to Jesus and that he therefor must have had long hair.

However, even if Jesus didn't have long hair, Corinthians 11:14 is still a problem because Sampson definitely had long hair and God didn't have a problem with that. Moreover, all the members of the Nazarite ascetic sect had long hair and it was God that told them to do it. So, the verse in Corinthians seems to be a fairly obvious contradiction.

Some Christians say that the verse in Corinthians was a cultural thing that only applied at that time. If so, it would have been nice for God to have somehow made this fact to be explicitly stated in the text. If people begin assuming that some parts of the Bible are OK to ignore because of cultural issues, then you get to the point where people will just pick and choose what they like and obey only that, (which is basically what most Christians do anyway).

Of course, if you don't believe in Biblic inerrancy and literalism, then this conflict shouldn't be a problem. If you do believe in those things, then....good luck.

They were probably referring to hair that was longer than the norm. Long like women's hair. Women always wore their hair really long in those days- so that was probably what they were calling long.

Remember that things like that change throughout the times. What we call short hair, differs from what they called short hair.

it really depends on your definition of "pretty long". really long hair usually looks rather silly on anyone who's not %26lt;12yo (or preparing to become the next princess bunhead). if you're wanting to keep some length but not sacrifice much in style, i'd suggest no longer than the middle of your back with long layers. additionally, depending on the shape of your face you might want to consider adding bangs if you haven't some already. these can really enhance your look.

fyi - layers are a huge benefit for long hair as it removes the weight without losing much in length.

you should also consider your lifestyle, if you're a wash and go sort don't go for anything that requires too much maintenance.

Honestly putting it up in any type o way is really a drag . Either the weight of the bun hurts my head or it just does'nt look right at all. I also have long hair, try trimming every other month. Just a trim, so you don't see any length difference. Maybe an inch. Then every other month, keep trimming an inch. Also try a leave in treatment, like Infusium every day, or when you wash it. Instead of mousse. Just put a little leave-in treatment on it while it's wet. Also I recommend an Ionic blow-dryer. I have thick, long, wavy hair. I usually have to straighten everyday which leads to a ton of split ends. I do a couple things to prevent them.

1). I only use ceramic flat irons. They disperse the heat evenly and prevent "hot spots" in your hair.
